In fairness, Charli XCX
is a very accomplished young lady. She's responsible for some of pop's biggest hits, including Icona Pop's "I Love It," and Iggy Azaelea's "Fancy," which she sang the hook for. She's clearly adept at pumping out catchy punk flavored pop, and kudos to her for finally having her own face connected to her hits. Cheers, really.
Unfortunately "London Queen," the latest single off her forthcoming album Sucker
, isn't one of her best. The track is a pretty empty sugar pop bore. It's washed out new wave reach, drenched in cheap Ramones rip offs, and boring lyrics about "living the dream like a London Queen," in the United States. Charli recently pushed back the release date of Sucker
, here's hoping that results in less tracks like "London Queen".
