just dropped a brand new spankin' video for their single "Rollercoaster" and while the concept of performing atop an ice cream truck sounds cute, original, and weirdly edgy, singer, Jack Antonoff, admits it wasn't a walk in the park. When Pitchfork caught up with Antonoff, he explained why it was nothing short of a harrowing experience
"The idea of getting on top of a car and playing on a highway felt distinctly 90s in a way that excited me about videos I saw growing up. Didnt think it would be acutely dangerous the brakes ended up going out and we literally almost died, he said. Theres something special
about almost dying for a video. Beyond that, 'Rollercoaster was written while I was driving home on the NJ turnpike. The song always felt like driving on a highway to me sonically.
