Ever since it came out last month
, we've been spinning Bon Iver
's latest album 22, A Million
on repeat. Although it may take some time to warm up to (have you seen those song titles? It is
their weirdest record to date), it is a real indie folk/alt/electronic dream. A highlight is "33 'GOD'" which starts out soft with piano and distorted vocals. "I'd be happy as hell if you stayed for tea,"
Justin Vernon sings. "Staying at the Ace Hotel,"
he later screams when drums suddenly kick into gear and the song transitions into a full-fledged, slightly lo-fi anthem with gritty bass and wonky lyrics. Keep gettin' weirder, Vernon & co.
