Today, Minnesota natives Communist Daughter
release the video for their song "Hold Back," an emotional cut from their sophomore album The Cracks That Built The Wall,
out now. The family band's video is a bit disturbing as it follows around a woman who we can presume is a little sad while connecting with others. In the song, there's a sense of cheeriness and a sense of melancholy that contrast each other yet also manage to compliment each other well.
When we asked them about the video, Johnny Solomon told us, "Human connection can be hard. Especially when you don't feel like you are other. I spent the better part of my life thinking there was something off about me. I guess I wasn't too far off, but turns out everyone feels that way. You just have to find someone to hold on to as we all hurdle through space. Our friend Nick Perez has that feeling down to a tee in this video.
