Minutes ago I was barraged with criticism from my fellow Baeblers after expressing my appreciation for Lady Gaga's gratuitous nudity and hypersexual behavior. After reading a few complaint pieces about her recently shared single "Do What U Want" featuring fellow coitus advocate R Kelly, it would seem as though I'm also the only one enjoying it (and its cover art). These complaints seem to revolve around it being a rip-off of today's often familiar sounds of 80s synth minimalism, with examples including Twin Shadow and Cliff Martinez's soundtrack work. But when you get down to brass tacks, they too are borrowing from an earlier era.
