Billie Eilish - "ocean eyes"
I caught Billie Eilish's live show earlier this week
at Public Arts and ever since then, I haven't been able to stop listening to her dont smile at me
EP. "ocean eyes" is particularly gorgeous; it features layers of Eilish's airy falsetto and a deep, contrasting bass. It's just good vibes all around, man.
St. Vincent - "Savior"
St. Vincent's MASSEDUCTION
is undoubtedly what I've been spinning the most this week. It's pretty much all I've been spinning, actually. It's really funny to walk around the NYC streets with this sort of creepy music playing in your ears.
Bobi Andonov - "Apartment"
This song is so intense and sensual, I'm a little obsessed.
ODESZA ft. Leon Bridges - "Across The Room"
My love for Leon Bridges is so, so strong. His voice to me is like velvet. So when I heard electronic duo, ODESZA, collaborated with the soulful seducer (yes, I've named him that), I freaked out. "Across The Room" is perfectly balanced. It features Leon Bridges' sultry gospel vocals with ODESZA's amazing dance-worthy production. And don't even get me started on the music video. Check it out for yourself here
Bully - "I Remember"
Ever feel passionately nostalgic? Well Bully is here for you with "I Remember." Alicia Bognanno's vocals are filled with teen angst. Her lyrics will take you down memory lane to when you first fell in love, before it crashed into a million pieces. Bully's sophomore album Losing
is officially out today, so give it a listen.
Kali Uchis - "Loner"
In case you didn't already know, Kali Uchis is a queen. I get to see the Colombian songstress perform tonight at The Bowery Ballroom and I can't frickin' wait. I became a fan of hers about two years ago and "Loner" was the first song I heard. I was instantly hooked to her 50's era inspired style, and you will be too.
Ryan Adams - "Wildest Dreams"
Ryan Adams took Taylor Swift's whole 1989
album and made it actually good. There, I said it. Sacrifice me to the T. Swift groupies now.
Turnover - "Diazepam"
I haven't even had the chance to listen to Turnover's newest album, Good Nature,
because I just can't stop listening to Peripheral Vision
start to finish, several days a week.
The Sea and Cake - "Sporting Life"
Jazzy indie-electronic that sounds like Wes Anderson's little yellow pill. Perfect zoning-out tune.
CYN - "Only With You"
CYN released this single last month, and I'm a huge fan. The song is super catchy and just pops. After seeing CYN live
, I'm even more obsessed.
Beck - "I'm So Free"
I love this song off of Beck's most recent album Colors
. It's a total jam, and makes me feel super free.
Zak Abel - "Broken"
This British artist released his studio album Only When We're Naked
in early October. His music is a unique blend of pop, R&B, and electronic genres. His voice totally draws me in, and the synths are really cool here.
