Rather, where has he been in general? At this point, we can't help but wonder if Bob Dylan is just scrolling through the news laughing about all of this. But seriously, what's happening? After receiving the 2016 Nobel Prize for Literature, the iconic folk singer has yet to acknowledge the fact that he received one of the most prestigious literary awards from the Swedish Academy. Odd Zschiedrich, the administrative director of the Swedish Academy, explains that the committee has been able to contact Dylan's management but has yet to hear from the Dylan himself, ultimately leaving the committee to give up on trying to get in touch with the iconic singer.
"We have stopped trying - we said everything we needed to his manager and friend, he knows about us being eager having confirmation from him, but we haven't heard anything back, Zschiedrich stated to CNN on Tuesday. Having a record of skipping award ceremonies and being reluctant about performing, we wonder if he'll decide to show up to the Nobel Prize ceremony and accept such a reputable accolade. In a 2013 interview with President Obama, Obama notably recalled Dylan's cool and reserved attitude, stating that he was invited to play at the White House for a tribute to Black History Month and left after his performance without much interaction with anyone including the president. Who knows? Maybe he'll show up to the Nobel Prize ceremony and do the same thing. We can only imagine.
In the meantime, this seems pretty damn relevant...
