Artists often join for causes and organizations they support and want to preserve, and that's exactly what's happening on "7-Inches For Planned Parenthood." The project raises money for Planned Parenthood. Here, Sleater-Kinney
have released a new song off of the compilation, entitled "Here We Come."
Recorded during the No Cities to Love
sessions, they bring a jagged edge and signature underground punk feel to this track. Known for their liberal-feminist outlook, they empower here with their unapologetic freedom. It's great when artists utilize their talents for activism, and when the song is exciting, that's always a plus.
"7 Inches For Planned Parenthood" also features musical artists such as Bjork, Bon Iver, Mary J. Blige, as well as notable comedians. The digital release is set for October 20th, with the physical box set due on November 17th. As quoted on their website, "Planned Parenthood receives 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the box set and streaming listens."
