What does Snoop Dogg, a Paparazzi, and the Australian branch of Virgin EMI have in common? They're all pretty much tied for first on Iggy Azalea's shit list this week. Snoop put up a mean tweet, then someone caught Iggy calling a paparazzo a, "fucking cunt" on film, and now the Australian branch of her record label is fuckin up too. Girl just cannot catch a break—except for the six AMA nominations
Twitter rants aren't often known for their striking validity, especially ones from inarticulate pop stars, but Iggy's 7 tweet rant is pretty valid, and shockingly diplomatic — like, for a twitter rant.
Im going to publicly say something to the australian division of my record label right now because my message seems to be ignored privately. — IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) October 16, 2014
stop giving permission on my behalf for magazines to purchase images of me that have already been printed in major publications for covers. — IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) October 16, 2014
australian label, i love you guys but you allowed my image to be sold to cosmo Aus when i told you i would prefer for that not to happen. — IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) October 16, 2014
and now this morning i see youve allowed maxim australia to buy an image from a 2011 complex mag shoot and put it on the cover. — IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) October 16, 2014
i think its awesome anyone would want me on the cover of a magazine, but theres a right way to make that happen and the australian label — IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) October 16, 2014
clearly arent respecting my wishes. a magazine cover deserves an accompanying photoshoot not a reused image. — IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) October 16, 2014
maxim australia, thanks for the love and Im sorry no one asked me. i would have love to have given an interview & done a shoot with u guys — IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) October 16, 2014
You know what Iggy, from someone who is genuinely not a fan of your work I will say two things: 1. You actually make a really solid Cher Horowitz
, and 2. You're goddamned right, its awesome that anyone would want you on the cover of a magazine, and there is a right way to make that happen. Her label hasn't commented on Iggy's public shaming of them yet, so who really knows what happened or who fucked up, but at this point I'm inclined to agree with Azalea.
Naturally, the tweets have since disappeared from Iggy's account.
