Folksy singer/songwriter Lissie Maurus, or just Lissie, is planning on following the success of her debut album, Catching A Tiger with a new EP, set to drop on 11/8. The EP, titled Covered Up With Flowers, will feature Lissie's whiskey-and-sun take on songs by the likes of Lady Gaga and Metallica. Lissie handles the pop-diva and headbangers' songs carefully, putting a more soulful spin on the tunes. I must say, "Bad Romance" is one hell of a song to begin with, but Lissie's version amplifies the emotions (despite being stripped down). Her take on Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters" isn't as technically crafted as the metal legend's original, but has a stark nakedness that showcases the lyrics rather than guitar solos.

A collection of covers is nothing new for Lissie. She has been playing them for some time, even releasing a few videos for some which became Youtube favorites, and are highly recommended for your viewing pleasure. Speaking of your viewing pleasure, be sure to also check out Lissie session, as well as the track listing for Covered Up With Flowers down below.
