So it's definitely been said for years now, and I'm probably the last to hop on the wagon, but I still feel like I need to put it out there: the Disney days for Selena Gomez are certainly over. Her new album Revival has been in the works for about a year and a half now, and man, are the charts ready for it. Selena performed her single "Same Old Love" on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in an almost cabaret-like fashion. And it's dazzling.
Once the full band kicks in, we truly see this song in it's most bare form -- instruments and vocalist. Again, I hate to be the guy who can't leave the past, but "Same Old Love" truly shows how far Gomez has come from singing the theme song for Wizards Of Waverly Place. (Yeah, I just referenced that show.) In the interview with Jimmy Fallon, Gomez says she loves performing and "it's exciting to be able to bring the music you create to life." A truly mature, and artistic statement. For all the closet Selena fans, you can come out now -- she's cooler than ever.
