What does it mean to be young? Is it love? Can we not experience it the same way when we're older? Is it partying? Do we forget how to have fun when we're older? Is it being immersed in culture and music as you burn the midnight oil underneath the bright lights of the cities and towns we call home? Do we not have that kind of time once our twenties disappear? I don't know. But in their new track and music video, "Bar Lights," Portland alt-rockers Altadore
have captured the ineffable atmosphere of being young in a way few others can.
We're pleased to be premiering the video for "Bar Lights." A rock show in a quiet dive, twenty-somethings taking pictures and making out in an old-fashioned photo booth, quiet longing on poorly lit streets in the early hours of the morning. That sounds more like my twenties than any wild party ever did. And the track itself is as evocative. Skittering, reverbed guitars. Understated but dramatic vocals. The track itself positions the best of 90s alt rock with a modern, garage-y charm. We're ready to dig into Altadore's newest record, Wandering Ghost
, after this, and we're pretty sure you will be too.
