We've probably hit on this before on the site, but it's worth repeating. It's fun when a band really makes you work at the "figure out the influences" game. , the music relations corners of our brain are on max-fire. We had the chance to hear their single "Golden Lion." There's some sun-dappled 60s acid rock but it's not hippie music. There are reverbed-out guitars and walls of noise, but it sure as hell isn't grunge or noise. There are British invasion vocals but this ain't pop or classic rock throwback. All we know for sure is that it's beautiful and we want to hear more soon. Their album, A Coliseum Complex Museum
, is due out January 22nd on Jagjaguwar.
