As it turns out, Courtney Love is responsible for the success of alt. rock mega-gods Smashing Pumpkins
...at least according to her. Regarding the myriad hits of the band, Love proclaimed;
"There's so many of them that are about me." "Most of Siamese Dream is about me," she told BBC Radio 6 recently. Excluding "Spaceboy," which is about Corgan's brother, Love insists the rest of the album was "pretty much" about her. Apparently, frontman Billy Corgan's largest artistic misstep was allowing his romantic leanings with Love to fizzle, Love explains "He stopped writing about me, and then he stopped having hits."
Oh, Courtney, you're nothing if not bold.
