    If you're into Animal Collective, Vampire Weekend and Local Natives, you'll love our CMJ band of the day, Jonquil. Hailing from Oxford, England, this band of friends is emerging as a promising new voice in the land of indie afrobeat freak folkishness.

    It started as the casual bedroom project of Hugo Manuel and grew into something explosive. Songs from their album Lions and the One Hundred Suns EP promise an energetic, uninhibited performance full of great beats to dance and let loose. The band just released a split single 7" with "Mexico" and "Solid Gold Dragons" in August. You can download it off the Dovecote Records website.
