Erica and Bruce Driscoll are the pair of musicians behind the ethereal disco pop group Blondfire
. The two are siblings from Michigan, born to Brazilian/American parents, and raised between both cultures. They began recording together when they were kids. Their first musical endeavor, Nectar, pulled them out of high school and put them on tour; their second outfit, Astaire, found success on the alternative charts with highly featured exposure from iTunes during the program's launch. The coverage also attracted the attention of the Fred Astaire estate, who requested the group change their name, and without enough funds to take it to court, the group was re-born in 2011 as Blondfire.
"Young Heart," is the latest single off their 2014 album of the same name. The video depicts a conglomeration of familiar fairytale landscapes. According to Erica, the video's fantastical setting came about organically, "when we wrote the song it came out really dreamy so we tried to convey that in the video. Eric and Kylie who directed it did a great job of turning a back yard in Burbank into a dream world."
