Sufjan Stevens is set to release The Greatest Gift Mixtape — Outtakes, Remixes, & Demos from Carrie & Lowell, a companion piece to 2015's Carrie & Lowell, on November 24th. The newest track to come from that is the rare outtake "Wallowa Lake Monster," which makes a bunch of references to "Dungeons & Dragons." Sonically, it sounds like it could have easily fit on Carrie & Lowell, with its acoustic textures and minimalistic instrumentation. Towards the end, the tone changes and sweeping synths and voices come flying in for a dramatic outro. This is the fourth song Stevens has shared from the mixtape, in addition to "The Hidden River Of My Life," "City Of Roses," and the title track, "The Greatest Gift."
