Nick Murphy, or the artist artist formerly known as Chet Faker, released a new track entitled "Medication" today. The track is Murphy's first song since his Missing Link EP and music video release for "I'm Ready" (both released earlier this year). Murphy dropped the Chet Faker moniker in September 2016 after using it for half a decade after feeling like it had reached the time to progress to something new.

"Medication" opens with a bold wobbling bass line alongside a dramatic, if simple, piano riff and is paired well with Murphy's at times breathless, soulful vocals. It also contains two interesting interludes, contrasting Murphy's normally groovy swagger with more contemplative vocal harmonies and some pastoral-esque flute work. Simultaneously bombastic and muted, "Medication" displays a strong mix of youthful energy and matured introspection.

Murphy is currently in the midst of a massive U.S. and European tour. Tickets and dates can be found here.
