Run The Jewels Will Open For Jack White At MSG

    Run The Jewels has had an epic year of knockin em dead. Their sophomore LP, aptly titled Run The Jewels 2, garnered some viral acclaim in and out of the hip hop community. Spencer Tweedy, the junior half of Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy's family band, Tweedy, praised the duo as the finest example of social activism today's music has.

    Apparently the Tweedy's weren't the only living rock legends to appreciate everything that Killer Mike and El-P have spit out and held up in 2014. According to a tweet from El-P, Jack White has asked the group to open his NYC show at Madison Square Garden on January 30th. It isn't such a stretch, considering that Jack White has confessed a love of hip hop, and even covered Kanye West's Yeezus track "Black Skinhead" on his Lazaretto tour. That said, Kanye West and Run The Jewels are pretty different fruit. For a simple explanation of the oddball pairing, I direct you to the tweet in question:
