The Thermals Return With Fiery Punk Pop

Everybody's favorite Oregon lo-fi punk rockers The Thermals have finally returned after a three year hiatus since their last record (frontman Hutch Harris has developed a stand-up comedy career which you can read about in our interview with the artist). The band will be releasing their new record (the ironically titled We Disappear) in March and today they shared a propulsive bit of punk-pop, "Hey You" (sadly not a Pink Floyd cover cause how awesome would that be?).

The new track is a hard-hitting bit of Pixies via Nirvana via the undeniable eccentricity of Hutch Harris and crew with jangling guitars filtered through layers of reverb and squall. It isn't any sort of grand departure from the band's sound, but that's A-OK when you have as precise a grab on what that sound is as The Thermals do. We can't wait til we have the chance to 'Disappear' with the band once we get our hands on the record. And check out our session with The Thermals below.
