Spoon Spills New Song 'Satellite' Live in Texas

    Spoon made a bold return to the beat last year with the thirst quenching release of They Want My Soul. The album numbered among 2014's finest records, and succeeded in making a satisfying contribution of authentic alt-rock to the band's discography as well as introducing newest member Alex Fischel to the line-up. Currently on tour in support of the record, the band hasn't halted creative production. At a recent show in Houston, Spoon rolled out a nearly melancholic new track, "Satellite."

    True to form, "Satellite" holds steady the lurid blend of Bret Denning's moody crass-croon affectation and Jim Eno's spinal cord of a drum line. New kid Alex Fischel's lurid keys step in as the stem of the song where Eno's parched rhythms once stood, and manage to roll the track into new territory without losing an ounce of authentic Spoon character.
