The Shins are putting their final touches on their new album, Heartworm, which was produced by frontman, James Mercer, and we finally have a release date: March 10th. It's the first album that Mercer has produced since The Shins debut album, Oh, Inverted World in 2001. The Shins have just released the second single off their upcoming album called "Name For You" and it gives off the familiar sound that made us fall in love with The Shins all those years ago.

Mercer wrote this joyous pop number "Name For You" for his daughters and was inspired by growing older and becoming a parent. "Given all the drops in the ocean / Better take it one sip at a time". It's a song about female empowerment and will make all the ladies out there want to go outside and conquer the world. It's upbeat, anthemic and happy - even the lyric video puts you in a good mood. "Name For You" gives you a feeling of nostalgia when you hear it for the first time because it has the classic sound of The Shins.

We are over two months away from the release date of Heartworms so we will be listening "Name For You" and their first single "Dead Alive" on repeat until then.
