Donald Trump continues to hold the government hostage with his demands to build "The Wall" for "Border Security."
Since Donald and his band of stooges seem to be unable to read or at least have someone read them short texts from Wikipedia on history, we thought we would visit some Wall stories from popular culture for easy consumption and perhaps instruction.
Pink Floyd's "The Wall"
The scariest video of them all. The nihilism of the lyrics and imagery will make the hair on the back of your neck tingle.
If you were lucky enough to see Roger Waters perform the entire rock opera a couple of years ago, you will know that in the end the wall crumbles in the end and we are set free.
Game of Thrones
Daenerys Targaryen's undead dragon melts the wall with his blue flame and sets the stage for a massive invasion of the White Walkers.
The Kaiju breach the wall in minutes. A Category 4 Kaiju named Mutavore took the Great Pacific Wall in Sydney down in less time than it takes to butter toast. The Jaegers of course save the day.
World War Z
The Israelis build a wall around Jerusalem to keep the infected undead out. Despite Brad Pitt's amazing good looks the undead easily scale the wall and invade the city killing its inhabitants.
The Great Wall
Matt Damon just doesn't have enough mojo to keep the monsters from penetrating The Great Wall setting up a climactic final battle where good triumphs over evil.
Mel Gibson and his band of merry Scotsmen breach the impenetrable walls surrounding York and sack the city.
Kingdom of Heaven
Orlando Bloom's Crusaders cannot defend Jerusalem against Saladin's Muslim horde and the City falls.
Monty Python and The Holy Grail
"I fart in your general direction." Well we did find one movie where a wall is successfully defended. The Insulting Knight defeats King Arthur and his Knights of the Roundtable by hurling farm animals down on the King.
Back to reality for the close.
Let's not forget the destruction of the Berlin Wall was the great foreign policy triumph of President Reagan and Bush 1 at the close of the '80's. The world celebrated the destruction of this divisive symbol.
