The Super Bowl's Broadway Freeze Out

    The Super Bowl means a week of sponsor-driven, over the top entertainment throughout the New York City area. This week, portions of Broadway will be closed and given over to festivities, and there are reports of an icebreaker making its way up the Hudson to clear way for the BUD LIGHT cruise ship that will bring watery beer and Norovirus into the heart of the city.

    Last night the NFL made popsicles of Daughtry, The Goo Goo Dolls and The Fray in at an outdoor concert in Liberty State Park. With temperatures hovering in the mid-20s, the audience and performers were left longing for a Super Bowl in more temperate climates. Not surprisingly attendance at this freeze was far below expectations.



    The fireworks extravaganza and booms that followed drove Manhattan and Brooklynites—who were oblivious to the festivities—to Twitter and Facebook where they questioned the possibility of an aerial attack.
