Last week, we were fortunate enough to stop by the Atlantic Record offices to shoot a video interview with rising star, Jess Glynne. The 26 year old British singer-songwriter has been on a whirlwind rise in the last couple of years including not one, not two, not three, not four, but five number one singles in the UK between 2014 and 2015. If you don't understand why that's a big deal...you need to get your head checked. Throw in a debut #1 album in the UK, I Cry When I Laugh, and you've got all of the recipes for an artist who is primed to make a big splash here in the states.
Glynne just released her latest music video, "Ain't Got Far To Go," and it brings a worldly vibe to Glynne's music. The video finds her dancing in the streets with exceptionally talented kids and bringing musical joy and vibes to different parts of the world than just her native UK. I can't actually tell for sure which country this is being shot in, but if you like people in gorgeous jackets (seriously, whoever designed the costumes for this video needs a raise) dancing to up beat dance pop, "Ain't Got Far To Go" has you covered.
But more generally, now's the time to learn Jess Glynne's name. She's starting to make major waves here in the States (the sizzling video for "Take Me Home" garnered a lot of buzz last year) and we won't be surprised if she starts taking over the charts here in America very soon. Be sure to be on the lookout for our interview with Jess Glynne which should be going live in the weeks ahead.
