Pop superstar Prince has long looked at the internet with a skeptical glare. After finally joining the Twitter world under the mysterious guise of his lady rock trio 3RDEYEGIRL
we were actually beginning to consider him as the artist formally known for fearing digital media. However, Prince has since dropped a $22 million copyright lawsuit on the laps of 22 Facebook users and bloggers who shared links to his concerts.
At this point, only two of the 22 individuals' names are known, while others are referenced in the suit by their usernames, which stretch from obvious Prince fans like PurpleKiss2, to the far from covert TheUltimateBootlegExperience.
Like Prince's previous web-based copyright infringement lawsuits, we wouldn't expect this one to go very far. But what we do know is that we certainly won't be racing to share any of his new music in the future.
