There's a lot of pissed off people this week. Comedians making fun of rappers (rightfully so, #TBH), fans calling out artists on their actions (or if you're Taylor Swift, lack
of actions), and more. Let's get down to it, shall we?
1. Gavin Rossdale never wanted to divorce Gwen Stefani.
The gorgeous, beautiful, never-aging Gwen Stefani and the not-so-worthy Gavin Rossdale were married for 13 years before they got divorced in August 2015. Stefani has already moved on, but Rossdale? Not so much. In an interview with Fabulous
, the magazine of British newspaper The Sun, he dished his feelings on the sitch, "[Divorce] was completely opposite to what I wanted... But here we are."
"Apart from death, I think divorce is one of the hardest, most painful things to go through," he said. "I know we all wish that, but we can't, so I have to deal with reality," he said. "You can't not have regrets and be human at the same time."
"I still think she's incredible."
Umm... According to Stefani, the divorce happened because he cheated on her
. And according to Rossdale, he never intended on getting divorced. That was never part of his plan
. So what on Earth was he thinking? Yo Gavin, did you think you could keep having an affair with the nanny and no one would ever find out? You could have both the marriage and the side piece and live happily ever after? Typical narcissistic, ignorant, straight up STUPID entitlement. Gavin, ya played yerself, and Stefani is off making a bomb ass playlist and picking out a luxurious AF venue for her wedding. Because she freakin' deserves it.
2. Poor Chris Brown, he's mad at Aziz Ansari for making fun of him.
One of our fave comedians, Aziz Ansari, hosted SNL last weekend. It was extra special because it was the day after Trump's Inauguration (spooky!
) so we knew we could expect a crap ton of political jokes. In one of the finest moments, Ansari brought Chris Brown into his monologue, saying, "If you think about it, Donald Trump is basically the Chris Brown of politics, and Make America Great Again is his 'These Hos Ain't Loyal.'"
And did you really think Brown would stay silent after that? Really,
did you? Of course not. He later posted his reaction on Instagram, calling Ansari "Aladdin." OMG:
3. Taylor Swift realllyyyyy wants us to understand that she is not a feminist.
Tay, I like jamming to "Hey Stephen" and "I Knew You Were Trouble," but I don't know if I can continue to support someone who chooses to go silent during the time when we need their voice most. During the presidential campaign, when celebrities were voicing their respected opinions, Tay stood on the sidelines and watched. Could she have completely altered the election results? Prob not. But
she has an enormous platform... So many fans... Her own TV Channel
... Whether we admit it or not, she's a big influencer and there's no doubt that she could have made a difference.
Back in 2012, when asked if she considered herself a feminist
, she responded with this scattered fuckery, "I don't really think about things as guys versus girls. I never have. I was raised by parents who brought me up to think if you work as hard as guys, you can go far in life." It looks like she completely missed the point and genuinely does not understand what it means to be a feminist, and with so many young women looking up to her, it hurts. It physically hurts. It has never been about guys versus girls. That is precisely why we have "anti-feminist" people, because of this misconception that feminism is all about pinning these genders against each other. But to be real, when looking at where Tay is coming from, it's unfortunately easy to understand. She is a very wealthy white person from the south...
ANYWAY, GETTING WAY OFF TRACK...
During the women's marches, she finallyyyyyy
broke her silence on Twitter with a pretty sparse shout out to women:
But here's where the amazing #WTF moment comes in: Tay's fans responded to this Tweet, pissed off as ever, and called her out on her silence:
It seems like Tay is some weird business cyborg who strictly uses social media to promo her upcoming music and almost nothing else... So who knows. Do we even really know who Taylor Swift is? We know she can write a good song, but has she ever actually cried or felt love IRL?
