The nominations for the 2018 Grammy Awards have been announced, and several of the artists who were nominated were artists that we've worked with in the past. You can see some of those artists here. Because so many artists that we've worked with were nominated, we felt like proud parents, and thus created a brand new Grammy Spotlight series where we feature one of those artists every day leading up to the award show, which takes place this Sunday, January 28th.

Today, we're talking about one of the most exciting artists I've personally encountered over the last year or so, UK producer Mura Masa. Real name Alex Crossan, he is unlike most DJs on the dance scene right now -- he plays multiple live instruments, has his own specific sound, and has already worked with so many A-list artists on his self-titled debut album. Debut album! It's only his first full-length and he's already gained so much credibility for working with artists like Damon Albarn, Charli XCX, and A$AP Rocky amongst others. And with all of that hard work comes recognition: two Grammy nominations for Best Dance/Electronic Album and Best Recording Packaging.

We're pretty stoked Mura Masa is getting the recognition he deserves. We recently released an episode of The Dive, where he was a featured artist (see above). In addition to that, he actually dropped by the Baeble studio in 2017 for an interview to promote the then upcoming album, and he was extremely humble, funny, and simple a pure joy to hang with. We're wishing you the best of luck this weekend, Mura Masa!
