You don't need a perfect theme song to make your TV show a classic, but it sure does help. It's hard to think of the massively successful, blood-soaked show without the title song popping into your head. Immersive and suspenseful tracks bring the HBO hit series, Game of Thrones to life and the music tour will be brought to 28 cities throughout the U.S starting in February.
The arena tour will feature GoT's composer, Ramin Djawadi, who will be conducting an eighty-piece orchestra and choir through the series' favorite themes. I'm sure fans (my dad) are shaking in their boots right now.
The music of GoT is majestic and powerful, but can easily be overshadowed when presented with an action-packed storyline and intricate visuals. This concert allows fans to experience the songs for what they are and gives the music its own spotlight. Elements of the fantasy world will be brought to life thanks to the extensive work put into the set design. The concert will feature a 360-degree stage that will allow audience members to see the orchestra from wherever they sit, as well some inspired visuals from the show.
I think it's safe to say that fan enthusiasm has grown by the season. I can usually find my dad humming the opening theme while chopping garlic on Sunday afternoons... What a normal tune to hum while chopping.
Will this tour succeed? Well based on the huge success of Harry Potter concert tour, I'm sure the GoT cult will follow through. I'll be sure to cop my dad a ticket, too...
