We all need Heros. I will take Mavis Staples as mine. Over a career that is nearing 70 years she has surprised, taught, entertained and sustained. She has the power to transform and soar and is one of those rare artists that elevates every other artist she performs alongside.

Do a quick dive in YouTube and you will be treated to videos of her performing through the decades.

Unlike most 79-year old's she still tours up to 200 days per year and she is releasing a new 14 track live album, "Live In London" in two weeks on February 8th. She and her label Anti- Records have released several videos from the performance to get us riled up and we are. The performance is set in London's Union Chapel and filmed by Electric Light Studios.

    Other great Mavis Staples moments:

37 year old Mavis Staples and The Staples Singers perform "The Weight" with The Band on "The Last Waltz."

Hozier and Mavis Staples live from Windmill Studios from last year's hit "Nina Cried Power."

Her last live album was in 2008, what can we expect for 2028?
