Big congrats to The Decemberists who are celebrating the release of their seventh studio album, What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World. The album, which dropped today, is getting extra attention from their hometown of Portland, Oregon who have officially declared January 20, 2015, "Decemberists Day."

Portland's mayor, Charlie Hales is set to present the band with the proclamation posted below at City Hall followed by a performance by the band and the unveiling of a collaborative art piece created by 50 local Portland artists and small businesses inspired by the album. Pretty cool.

The band will be hitting the road in February on an extensive tour throughout Europe and North America and will betaking an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel January 22.
