GUYS. THE MOMENT WE'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR IS FINALLY HERE. GORILLAZ
ARE OUT WITH NEW MUSIC. Yep, 15 year old me is screaming (was I 15 when I was listening to Gorillaz? I don't know. But I was young).
Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett are back after 6 years with a new song and video "Hallelujah Money," and it's getting a lot of mixed reactions. When we first listened to it, we though, "eh, it might be a little too
weird." You won't have a catchy chorus stuck in your head all day long after listening to it. But after a few more listens it's starting to make sense. It's most definitely experimental, and Gorillaz have always been experimental... Plus, the beat still sounds very Gorillaz-esque, and the political message behind it is strong. Perfect timing, too, with the inauguration being tomorrow and all. The video, although not fully their famous animations, still includes the shadows of old characters in the background behind Benjamin Clementine.
Overall, this new track caught us way off guard, yet it sounds like classic Gorillaz. We might be able to get down with it.
