It's a fact that no one in music had the 2014 rumor mill buzzing more than Taylor Swift
. The country crooner turned pop-star, who swore she was staying single, suddenly began popping up at several show for The 1975
in December, fueling rumors of a budding romance between herself and frontman Matt Healy.
We saw Taylor first hand at the band's show in NYC
having the time of her life and the tabloids couldn't speculate or write enough about the potential new couple. It seemed
like there could be some truth to all the whispers, but as it turns out, according to Healy himself, it's all "a farce."
When Australia's 2DayFM caught up with Healy, he used the opportunity to squash the speculation. "It's fake. It's all bloody fake," he said. "Yeah, we met each other, we exchanged numbers in the same way that a lot of people in this kind of world do and we spoke occasionally. She's the biggest pop star in the world and I'm in Australia. There's no like, relationship or anything happening. It's just funny how people really, really buy into that."
Taylor's camp also denied any kind of relationship, confirming she is still, "happily single" and plans to stay unattached for now as she continues to promote her album 1989
