Tomorrow on January 19th, First Aid Kit
release their new album Ruins
and in honor of that, we're throwing it way back to 2010 when we filmed our concert with the Swedish folk duo at Rockwood Music Hall in NYC. Taped hot off the heels of their debut album, The Big Black and The Blue,
they performed beautiful songs like "Ghost Town," "Hard Believer," and more. Their clear and pure vocals were a sign right away that these sisters were about to be onto big things. They've now been killing it for almost a decade.
As Klara and Johanna Söderberg have been gearing up for their new album, they've released several singles that have got our expectations pretty high for the big drop tomorrow. The album's title track is everything a perfect folk song should be, filled with summery harmonies and soft acoustic guitar. Their other recent single, "Fireworks," follows along that same path, except it's even a little bit more haunting. Needless to say, we're excited for the record tomorrow and until then, we're watching this excellent concert.
