The funk never really went away, nor did George Clinton, who has collaborated with Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino and plenty more in recent years, but the last time new music was released under the Parliament moniker was way back in 1980. Now we've finally been treated to a new track, "I'm Gon Make U Sick O'Me", our first taste of the group's forthcoming album Medicaid Fraud Dog.

It's classic Clinton all the way through, bearing the many P-Funk hallmarks we've come to expect. The bass wobbles, the drums clap and you just know that the horn section breakdown is right around the corner. Clinton's voice is powerful as ever and Scarface's appearance is a smooth contrast to the raspier lead vocal. The group still sound fresh after all these years and it's no surprise - that trademark P-Funk sound is iconic for a reason.

Also, if you have a few minutes to spare, Clinton's reddit AMA from earlier this week is jam-packed full of hilarious answers about UFO sightings, outer space and the time he had to buy jock straps for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. He even names Cardi B as one of his favorite artists right now, and says that he'd love to collaborate with her.
