The nominations for the 2018 Grammy Awards were recently announced, and several of the artists who were nominated were artists that we've worked with in the past. You can see some of those artists here
. Because so many artists that we've worked with were nominated, we felt like proud parents, and thus created a brand new Grammy Spotlight series where we feature one of those artists every day leading up to the award show, which takes place on Sunday, January 28th.
For today's Spotlight, we're highlighting an artist whose session was very, very dear to our hearts. Nominated for Best Contemporary Blues Album, we can most certainly confirm that Robert Randolph & The Family Band
's 2017 album Got Soul
has, well, got a lot of soul. When the group stopped by the Baeble studio last summer to provide us with what was hands down the loudest session we've ever hosted, they performed a bunch of cuts from the record, like "Find A Way" and "Shake It" as well as the title track. And it was some of the funkiest, grooviest, toe-tapping blues we've had the privilege to experience from the comfort of our desks.
"It feels amazing to know you're respected among your peers and appreciated by fans. It's the best payback for all the hard work we put into creating Got Soul,
" Robert Robert told Baeble on his fifth GRAMMY nomination. We're not surprised Robert received this very much deserved nomination and we wish him the best of luck!
