Maggie Rogers recently shared another taste of her debut EP, Now That The Light Is Fading, for fans on BBC Radio 1 and we're pretty sure she just keeps getting better. Co-produced by Rogers, Nick Das and Doug Schadt, "On + Off" features blaring bass lines and claps, creating her most danceable single yet.

"I've spent my whole life making quiet music... I'm really, really excited to be a little loud," she told BBC. "It's a song you can dance to and a song you can get down to, but for me there's a lot of heart and soul in it, too."

And apparently the lyric "you turn me on," isn't just a mainstream pop cliche. "If you listen to the rest of the lyrics, that is actually about emotional stability. Being on and off and finding a person that grounds you. Because I think that's one of the things that's most important to me in relationships." Rogers seems to be leaning towards a heavier pop sound this time around, with even more layers. She's keeping her free-spirited folk roots in tact, but adding onto it with a more modern electronic feel. However, her ability to tell a story and stay so optimistic and loving in a world of break up tunes will forever shine through whatever sonic direction she goes in.
