Los Angeles foursome Princeton
-- consisting of identical twins Jesse and Matt Kivel along with Ben Usen and David Kitz-- has released the title track "A Remembrance of Things to Come" off of their sophomore album of the same title. You'd think the identical twin factor would double the band's chemistry, and from the sound of this first slice of Remembrance
, you'd be right.
The band recently wrapped up a national tour with Sleigh Bells and CSS but the traveling had no hindering effects on the development of this new album. They continue to mature in their minimalist approach to music and the new single showcases this as it creates a sound that harks back to the classical era while blending it with electronic influences. This playful new tune melds impressively high-pitched vocals with a jumpy violin riff, bearing a sound similar to that of the National's "Fake Empire."
The potentially intriguing album is set to be released 2/21.
