Skrillex Has a New Song Out, and It's Not Dubstep

Before Skrillex was Skrillex, did you know that he was Sonny John Moore, the vocalist of a mid-2000's emo/post-hardcore band? Yes, drawing influences from acts like Senses Fail and Hawthorne Heights, From First to Last has actually been putting out their emo take on a post-hardcore sound since 2004. And how 2004 they still sound.

With the single's cover being a peach shaped like a heart with barbed wire to symbolize how much love "just sucks, dude," Sonny and the gang reach out to an emo crowd that probably doesn't shop at Hot Topic anymore. With forward chugging guitars and Sonny's whiny vocals (but surprisingly badass scream), From First to Last is doing what they have always done. But why now, Sonny? You would think that with a music scene that has been far removed from this sound for almost a decade now, that it would make more sense to put out another Skrillex record, but hey, I guess you have to do what you love. And Sonny really loves the mid 2000's.
