It's been almost 10 years since Sleater-Kinney released an album, but it looks as if the wait was worth it. The girl group performed on The Late Show With David Letterman to promote their new album, No Cities to Love, which will be released on January 20th through Sub Pop Records.

Carrie Brownstein and Corin Tucker traded vocals on the punk rock track "A New Wave." Brownstein, who sometimes picks up a guitar on her TV show Portlandia, proved she wasn't just acting by playing a few stellar solos along with Tucker. As well as her television work, Brownstein also played in the group Wild Flag during the band's hiatus, and drummer Janet Weiss played with groups such as The Shins and Quasi.

Check out their performance below- and if you can't bear to wait four days for the album, it's currently streaming on NPR.
