Last year in 2017, one of my favorite hidden gems that Baeble discovered in a NEXT Session
was Jade Bird
. Her debut EP Something American
had just come out around that time, and she graced us with performances of songs like "Good Woman" and "Cathedral." Not only did she blow us away with nothing but a huge voice and an acoustic guitar, but she had a big personality to match. The rising English artist told jokes left and right and laughed like there was no tomorrow. After falling so head over heels in love, we've been patiently awaiting new material, and today our wishes have been granted.
Bird just released her brand new single, "Lottery," via Glassnote Records, and remember how I mentioned her huge voice? Yeah well, it's going to blow you away on this one. "You used to tell me love is a lottery," she screams at the top of her raspy lungs over an acoustic guitar and clashing drums. It has a certain folky rawness that lets the natural high energy seep through to the listener. We'll be screaming along to this one for a while.
