Valentiger is a Michigan based band reminiscent of the Replacements with a pinch of Wilco. This is their video for "Oh My God! This Weekend".
From Midwestern landscapes of Michigan, and the vinyl collection of parents basements, is Valentiger.
Valentiger leans on the time-tested melodies of bygone days, unearthing and reinventing the sounds of the 60s while drawing heavily from contemporary ideals and experiences. The energy of both old and new provides for albums that are rich in homespun warmth, as well as a live show that moves effortlessly from airy rock and roll, to harmony rich folk-rock, to subdued alt-country.
Developing from a completely independent and grass-roots community, Valentiger stays true to their musicality and do-it-yourself mentality. Releasing albums and touring independently, the band has shared the stage with such acts as Ben Kweller, Steel Train, The Format, The Whigs, Collective Soul, Margot and the Nuclear So and Sos, and Limbeck.
Succeeding their well-received debut album, Power Lines to Electric Times, Valentiger's newest effort Oh, to Know! will be released on March 5th, 2011. It will be followed by national tour dates including a SXSW showcase in Austin, TX.
