Today we're premiering the video for electro-pop band Bear Mountain
's "Give It Up," which is the first single off of their forthcoming release, Badu,
out September 9 via Last Gang Records. Directed and produced by Dersu Rhodes, the video features a wild night out, a roof top party, some live performance, and intense colors to match the electrified music.
Drummer Greg Bevis told us a little bit about the video, "'Give It Up' is about capturing the present moment and squeezing every last bit of life out of it. We cast a real group of friends and shot them documentary style so that we could catch brief moments that felt both spontaneous and authentic." And their vision was clearly met. The video follows around youthful people with undeniable chemistry who truly are living in the moment. It's like a breath of fresh air.
Bear Mountain's electro/dance style blends syncopated bass lines and arpeggiated synth chords with live instrumentation and soaring vocals to produce a style all their own. Their approach to the traditional "indie-pop" genre is unmistakably fresh, and powerfully captivating.
