Arms Akimbo's video for "Parachute" shows Schrupp along with other band members, Chris Kalil, Colin Boppell, and Matthew Sutton performing - literally - in front of a parachute. We also see them driving around in a car together and petting an adorable puppy whose name is Teddy.
Arms Akimbo is a 4-piece rock outfit comprised of Peter Schrupp, Christopher Kalil, Matthew Sutton and Colin Boppell; and their story is simple. After meeting in college, they formed a band inspired by artists like Portugal. The Man, Local Natives, and Manchester Orchestra. After gigging around Los Angeles and opening for artists such as Walk The Moon, The Animals, Said the Whale, Colleen Green, Kat Dahlia, and Strangers You Know, they paired up with producer Stephen Gomez (The Summer Set) and released three new singles.
Their track, Michigan, went viral on Spotify with over 850,000 plays -- reaching #48 on Spotifys Global Viral Chart, #45 on the US Viral Chart, and #7 on the Canada Viral Chart in its first month of release. They followed these singles with sold-out release shows and a sold-out Echo Park Rising performance.
In 2018, Arms Akimbo is releasing their new EP "the wrong kind of dance party" on February 23rd, headlining The Troubadour on February 24th, and going on tour to SXSW in March.
