Hawthorne, CA's DIOS (MALOS)
consists of guitarists/vocalists Kevin and Joel Morales, bassist John Paul Caballero, keyboardist Jimmy Cabeza DeVaca, and drummer Jackie Monzon. Hailing from the same town that spawned musical luminaries such as the Beach Boys, Emitt Rhodes, and Black Flag, the trippy wistfulness and D.I.Y aesthetic of their hometown predecessors certainly influenced Dios’ sonic approach.
Charleston, South Carolina's CA's THE FILMS
formed in 2003 when four high school acquaintances with different musical pasts, found themselves scrapping to stay alive in America's South. Now, after relentless touring and stirring in the Southeast, Michael Trent (Vocals, Guitar), Jake Sinclair (Bass, Vocals) Kenneth Harris (Guitar, Keys,Vocals) and Adam C. Blake (Drums) bring their spit, grit, attitude, despair, and charm to Ausin.
Featuring ex-Everclear drummer Greg Eklund on guitar, indie rockers THE OOHLAS
are fronted by vocalist/guitarist Ollie Stone and rounded off by Eklund's brother Mark on bass. The trio (they've had no permanent drummer) formed in 2004 after Stone relocated to Los Angeles from Phoenix and met Mark, who was working for Stone's aunt. Mark introduced her to Greg, who had recently left Everclear. Wasting little time, they practiced in Greg's studio and were playing in the Los Angeles area. Within a year, an EP was issue on Stolen Transmission Records, a subsidiary of Island, in February of 2006. In September the Oohlas released the full album Best Stop Pop.
Direct from Paris, France, PROTOTYPES
are poised for Stateside domination. Already featured on an episode of Showtimes’ “The “L” Word,” and an iPod Shuffle commercial, they’re infiltrating the country with their pounding beats, commanding vocals, and demanding synthetic pop grooves.
was formed over six years ago with the intention of providing an online community of "industry" tastemakers with the tools and services they needed to stay up on the cutting edge artists that shape the broader spectrum of the music world as we know it. They always aimed to support and highlight music for those in the industry that "genuinely care" and love music as much as they do. The goal was simply to turn people on to new artists and document all that was happening in the greater music world, something much needed in an industry dominated by intensely jaded people.

Akin to nothing else currently roosting in this hugely well-respected indie's roster, Lo-Fi-Fnk are Leo Drougge and August Hellsing two kids hailing from Malmo, southern Sweden. The band started back in 2001 after Drougge and Hellsing joined forces at their local high school where they quickly started crafting danceable, electronic pop music, revealing their knack for killer melodies, infectious beats, and clever lyrics. Early in 2005, LFF released their very first UK EP with Moshi Moshi Records. Having notched up a ton of gigs across Europe this year, as well as appearances at Bestival, Iceland Airwaves, CMJ (their very first shows in NYC) and many other European festivals, Lo-Fi-Fnk are rapidly perfecting their live show. Their 2006 debut album 'Boylife’, will be re-release in April 2007.
