Show Review

Earlier in July, we hosted a super fun (but slightly stormy) Bands + Brews concert with folk-pop duo Overcoats and electronic pop act Transviolet. The latter put on a wildly energetic show, perfectly timed right before the rain set in.

Transcript

out to our Bands and Brew sessions here at Industry City.
I don't need night vision to find you in the dark
Glowing like a television, I let my love rain down
Get on your knees and praise me like you should
When it comes to being bad, you're so good
When the night gets heavy Lay your heaven on me
Sparks illuminate us I'll find you in the dark
When the sky is falling, I'll be your atlas holding the world on my shoulders
I'll find you in the dark I'll find you in the dark
I'll find you in the dark
I don't need night vision to see right into your soul
Supernatural lover, move through me like a ghost
Get on your knees and praise me like you should
When it comes to being bad, you're so good
When the night gets heavy, lay your heaven on me
Sparks illuminate us I'll find you in the dark
When the sky is falling, I'll be your atlas holding the world on my shoulders
I'll find you in the dark I'll find you in the dark
I'll find you in the dark
When the night gets heavy, lay your heaven on me
Sparks illuminate us I'll find you in the dark
When the sky is falling, I'll be your atlas holding the world on my shoulders
I'll find you in the dark
You're so good
When the night gets heavy, lay your heaven on me
Sparks illuminate us I'll find you in the dark
When the sky is falling, I'll be your atlas holding the world on my shoulders

Transviolet, all the way from Los Angeles.
Thank you so much for hanging out with us on this muggy New York day.
Let's pray it doesn't rain, at least for another 20 minutes.
I love New York City.
It's so colorful.
There's all kinds of different food and people and styles.
I've just been enjoying just watching the different kind of street style and trying to draw inspiration from that.
Last time we were here, we were here with a band called Laney, and we played Webster Hall and had the best time.
So, yeah, we're so happy to be back.
We love coming back here.
Young man, you better keep your hands off her, hands off her
Young man, you better keep your hands off her, hands off her
I'm screaming on the front lawn, don't you mess with my blood
mess with my blood
Boy, you're crossing lines I know what you've done
I know what you've done
Don't wanna see the truth It's got it out for you
Swimming in makeup, clean out of breath You don't wanna see the truth
It's got it out for you
Smiles you fake, but the bruises don't lie
The bruises don't lie the bruise don't lie
Young man, you better keep your hands off her, hands off her
Young man, you better keep your hands off her, hands off her
Young man, mama's gotta a gun, saying that our God's a mysterious one
Young man, you better keep your hands off her, hands off her
Death grip on his collar My cool is long gone
My cool is long gone
Swearing through my teeth, I know what you've done
I know what you've done
Don't wanna see the truth It's got it out for you
Swimming in makeup Clean out of breath
You don't wanna see the truth It's got it out for you
Smiles you fake but the bruises don't lie, the bruises don't lie
The bruises don't lie
Young man, you better keep your hands off her, hands off her
Young man, you better keep your hands off her, hands off her
Young man, mama's gotta a gun, saying that our God's a mysterious one
Young man, you better keep your hands off her, hands off her
It won't be the last time I can't change your mind, but I'll try
It won't be the last time I can't change your mind, but I'll try
It won't be the last time
I can't read your mind, but the bruises don't lie
The bruises don't lie The bruises don't lie
The bruises don't lie The bruises don't lie
Young man, you better keep your hands off her, hands off her
Young man, you better keep your hands off her, hands off her
Hey, man, mama's gotta gun, saying that our God's a mysterious one
Young man, you better keep your hands off her, hands off her
You better keep your hands off her, hands off her
You better keep your hands off her, hands off her
Thanks, guys.
The most rewarding part of being a musician is when I get to connect with fans.
Just being at a show and performing, and I'm sitting here in this city I've never been to, singing, and I have people that I've never met singing the lyrics back to me.
And it's like this transcendent moment of we've met each other, but we're connecting on this really deep level.
Like, I feel this way and so do you, and we don't have to have any other exchange aside from that.
So, that's powerful to me.
We're Transviolet.
We just released our EP called Kaleidoscopes.
If you're digging what you're hearing, go check it out online.
This next one's an old one but a good one.
It's called "Future.
" Lark, you never did get that far, did ya? Did ya?
I thought it wouldn't be this hard for us, I know you're blue Lover, it'll all turn around, you'll see It always does for you,
It always does
I can't see the future Lately, luck hasn't been a friend I know
I can't be your sunlight but I'll hold you when you're cold
I got you
Kiss me with your painted sould I got you
No matter what the future holds I got you
It's a fact, the past it's just the past But when you do look back
See how far we've come Oh, love, it'll all turn around
You'll see, always does for you and me
It always does
I can't see the future Lately, luck hasn't been a friend I know
I can't be your sunlight But I'll hold you when you're cold
I got you Kiss me with your painted soul
I got you No matter what the future holds
I got you
I got you
Painted soul, no matter what the future holds, I got you
Painted soul, no matter what the future holds, I got you
I got you
I got you I got you
Kiss me with your painted soul Kiss me with your painted soul
I got you
No matter what the future holds No matter what the future holds
I got you
Thank you.
My pretty head, I think I'm dead Everyone's dumb, and I'm no better
Ridiculously obscene Keeping the peace
You could be like me But I'm no better
Dress my soul up like a girl 'Cause after all, I'm just a girl
And I'm so happy, 'Cause aren't all the pretty girls happy?
Right, right, ah ah, ah Right, right, ah, ah, ah
Right, right, Oh, don't they say
I'm so happy, 'cause aren't all the pretty girls happy?
My pretty head What did you expect of the weaker sex?
I should know better You tell me I'm hot
That's what I want I've already lost
I should know better
Dress my soul up like a girl, 'cause after all, I'm just a girl
And I'm so happy, 'cause aren't all the pretty girls happy?
Right, right, ah, ah, ah Right, right, oh, don't they say
I'm so happy, 'cause aren't all the pretty girls happy?
Don't they all love a show
Don't you dare forget it
Don't they all love a show
Don't you dare forget it
Don't they all love a show Don't you dare forget it
Don't they all love a show
Don't you dare forget it
Don't they all love a show Don't you dare forget it
I'm so happy, I'm so happy 'Cause aren't all the pretty girls happy? Thank you.
I'll find you in the dark I'll find you in the dark
