After a chance meeting in 2004, The Soundmen (Justin Jamison and Scott Durday) formed the foundation of their vibrant sound in the depths of the Seattle hip hop underground. After producing for the likes of The Block Burners, Poison Pen and Breeze Evahflowin (among other Seattle local talent) they increased their reach by taking their operations to New York City. Collaborations with artists including Ron Browz, DJ Green Lantern, Cipha Sounds, Buckwild and Roxy Cottontail followed with calling The Soundmen, "One of the most versatile production teams you'll ever come across,"

The talented duo then began experimenting with white label remixes to showcase their sound. In 2009 they released their highly lauded Grizzly Bear/Lil Wayne remix EP "VeckaFlyest" which put them on the radar of music lovers everywhere garnering coverage from Gorilla Vs Bear, and Paste Magazine. Following their rise in profile, The Soundmen released a full-length project with AOK Collective MC, P.SO called "Moontones". The project featured collaborations with buzzing MCs including Homeboy Sandman, Fresh Daily and Von Pea of Tonya Morgan. Racking up more than 10,000 downloads in one month and positive reviews from, and, the project continued to expand The Soundmen's fanbase and sound palette.

In 2009, Justin was working on Glasvegas debut album as an assistant engineer and saw an opportunity to produce a remix album to support their album. Self-released in May of 2009, Home Demolition consists of 6 cleverly crafted remixes alternate versions of key tracks on their debut album. Not only was the release praised by the blogosphere, it received an official endorsement from the band. James Allann, the lead singer of Glasvegas, dubbed the project incredible.

Their onslaught of white-label and official remixes from 2010 to 2012 included tracks from Foster The People, Johnny Polygon, Yuno, Glasvegas, DJ Panic City, The Limousines, The Killers, Adele and Kid Cudi, among others. Their work charted on Hype Machine 7 times including a #1 with their Killers remix, further cementing their popularity among tastemakers on one of the most competitive music scenes in the US. Their remix for The Killers When You Were Young has garnered over 300,000 streams to date. Three Soundmen remixes were in the top 10 most downloaded songs of the year by, one of the largest college lifestyle websites.

The Soundmen have come full circle, signing a deal with buzzing Brooklyn label Dither Down to release some new original material. Their first single will be released in September 2012 and feature All Dom Wrong (Dominique Keegan of The Glass and Plant Music fame). "They have a unique, distinguishing sound that makes them stand out from just being another indie pop band, says They are planning new projects with a host of buzzing artists including The Voltaire Twins, Rai Knight, Jasmine Solano, DJ Panic City, P.SO and more. Paste Magazine feels they are a musical force to watch also for their mashups and DJ sets, saying "Keep your browsers bookmarked, because we may be witnessing the birth of the next Girl Talk."

Alongside their stellar productions they have also brought their high energy DJ sets to venues in the Tri-State area. Their highly-praised DJ work includes playing a two hour set for a sold out Roseland Ballroom on the Barstool Blackout Tour. "The Soundmen have an uncanny ability to create monster sets that are both familiar and new at the same time. They have been our go to DJs for parties where we need the energy high and the dancing non-stop," says Jesse Kirshbaum of the Nue Agency.

Ahead for the duo is a foray into scoring commercials and short films, exposing their music to a much wider audience including work with pro big wave surfer Jeff Rowley and veteran surf film director, Kai Neville. More remixes and production will also follow, along with their original full length project keeping the duo creatively busy for the forseeable future.

The duo has been hard at work for 2012 and are proud to release their first official single via Dither Down Records. The song "Funny Feeling" is a genre bending, nostalgic trip down memory lane; laced with the bright synths and signature bounce of what listeners have come to expect from Soundmen productions. The track features the woozy vocals of The Glass (Plant Music) front-man Dominique Keegan, also known as All Dom Wrong and is the perfect track to take listeners into the spring.
