King Princess was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, spending her childhood in a musical family. She quickly picked up guitar and piano, as well as songwriting.
KP turned down her first record deal at the age of 11 in order to stay focused on school. She would later go on to college at the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music studying under musicians such as legendary Patrice Rushen.
Her mainstream debut song, 1950, is an ode to her girlfriend, supporting the LGBTQ community.
