Kilo Kish

Artist bio

Kish was born in Orlando, Florida on May 10, 1990 to a family of African-American descent. She went to elementary school in Bergen County, New Jersey, but later returned to Orlando.

At age 18, Kish received a partial scholarship to go to Pratt Institute, New York. While taking a year off and working multiple jobs, she began establishing relationships and cultivating her New York experience. During this time she worked at a salon, as an intern, various night-life restaurants, and modeling gigs for numerous brands. Kish continued her education by enrolling into Fashion Institute of Technology (for textile design) and graduated in 2012.

Her musical pursuits began when her roommates Smash Simmons and Mel McCloud decided to set up an in-home studio and call the project the Kool Kats Klub. It was through this exposure that she initially met Matt Martians of the neo-soul duo The Internet and collaborated on The Jet Age of Tomorrow's "Want you Still" and The Internet's "Ode to a Dream".
