A few weeks back we gave you the scoop on the out-of-this-world, Brooklyn-based outfit Corbu. On their new album Crayon Soul, the trio (consisting of frontman Jonathan Graves, Amanda Scott, and Todd Hoellerman) tap into the late 60s and 70s, both in sound and aesthetic, creating a hyper-colored, cosmic sound that hints at the high art of classic artists like Pink Floyd, while getting there with the help of modern, electronic sounds....
A few days ago, I wrote about why Corbu is "The Most Interesting New Band Of 2016" and last night at Rough Trade, I got to see them live and found out they're amazing performers and incredibly sweet humans....
Corbu is a Brooklyn-based band that's a little out-of-this-world, in the best way. When you listen to Corbu's music, it takes you wherever you want to go....
RATING: 3.5/5 STARS A good album has a few catchy songs, but a great album takes you on a journey....
